AKHA Speaker Commends Martha Emmanuel Over FEYReP

The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has commended the Shelter of Hope programme floated by the wife of the governor, Dr  Martha Udom through her pet project, Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path Initiative (FEYReP).

The Speaker accompanied by his wife, Mrs Itohowo Aniekan and President of Legislators Wives Association, (LEWA) made this commendation when he joined Mrs Emmanuel at the commissioning and handing over ceremony of two built and well furnished three bedroom flats and a Church manse in the memory of late Eti-eka Mary Isaac Okon in Ekpene Ibia and Ibiaku Uruan in Uruan local government respectively.

The Assembly helmsman observed that Dr (Mrs) Martha Udom has brought succour to the needy as well as put smiles on the faces of the less privileged, thereby restored hope to their life society.

Mr Bassey while congratulating the beneficiaries Mr Anietie Nyong Etim (disabled) of Ibiaku Uruan and Madam Hannah David (widow) of Ekpene Ibia for their new houses, encouraged them to see the gesture of her Excellency as a step towards another phase of life and to make use of the opportunity and make life better for themselves and their children.

He urged other citizens to be steadfast on their prayers and support to the government of Udom Emmanuel for more developments and results to the State.

The Uruan lawmaker who donated wheel chair, generating set and cash to the disabled thanked and assured her Excellency for propagating the good gesture and invite her for another commissioning within the next two months in Uruan.

He appreciated the efforts of Mr Emmanuel Nicolas, Special assistant to the governor on Research and Documentation and Akparawa (Mr) Okon Okon, Chairman of Akwa Ibom state board of Internal Revenue for their foresight to partner with her Excellency to provide shelters to the homeless people in Uruan.

In their separate comments, Mr Emmanuel Nicolas, Akparawa Okon Okon and the Chairman of Uruan local council government, Rt. Hon. Henry Isaiah thanked God for the successful execution  of the projects and thanked the wife of the governor for using her pet project to touch the lives of the less privileged in the society.

The beneficiaries in their remarks expressed joy, happiness and hope over the new phase of life given to them by her Excellency. They pray God to protect, guide and bless her Excellency and governor for them to do more for Akwa Ibomites.
