The senator representing the southern senatorial district of Cross River state, Senator Gershom Bassey has described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the State’s deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA, saying nothing would change Cross River from remaining a PDP state.
In a statement made available to our reporter on Saturday, hours before the local government elections, the Senator called on voters to turn out en mass and vote for all PDP candidates, saying the party has done well.
“PDP has done well in the state over the years and there is need to consolidate on the gains recorded by voting for the PDP candidates at the Local Government level.
“Senator Gershom Bassey has congratulated the PDP under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus and His Excellency Ben Ayade for the successes of the PDP in the state.
“The Senator expressed his confidence that these successes will continue as the PDP is part of the DNA of the state. He called on all the stake holders to rally round the party to achieve greater heights,” the statement read in part.
