As Muslims celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, which marks the end of the thirty days Ramadan fast, the senator representing the southern senatorial district of Cross River state, Senator Gershom Bassey, has urged Muslims in the State to continue to live in peace and harmony with others for the benefit of all Nigerians.
In a statement made available to Pillartoday, Senator Bassey congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the thirty days of Ramandan fast.
He expressed the belief that the spiritual exercise would reposition them for greater service to God and humanity.
The Senator stated that Nigeria needed more prayers now than before as the country and the world confront the most trying moments, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging everywhere.
According to the Senator, “the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr should be dedicated to reconciliation, unity, peace and love among Nigerians so as to strengthen our aged long bond of nationhood and friendship.”
The Senator wished the Muslims a very refreshing celebration and continued blessings.
