Qabalistic Densification 2019 Appropriation Bill of Gov Ben Ayade has drawn the ire of the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Barr Eyo Ekpo, who, while addressing Journalists in his campaign office last Monday, said the Governor ridiculed the State and its people with that presentation and so should be impeached.
Recall that the Governor presented N1,043,967,000,000 budget estimates for 2019, christened ‘Budget of Qabalistic Densification,’ to the State House of Assembly but the SDP man said the Governor attempted to bamboozle Cross Riverians with meaningless jargons.
Ekpo accused Ayade of inability to present a budget in document form to help both members of the State House of Assembly and the general public to scrutinize and assess the true financial standing of the State, recurrent and capital expenditures as well as sources of expected income.
“This is act of most wicked deceit, it is an act of diversion to take people’s mind away from his failure. The Governor desecrated the concept of governance by that drama of diversion and sheer insult. Nothing worthy of a budget has been delivered. The question is: what will the House of Assembly debate and pass into law? Nothing. Our state has now become a laughing stock. That so-called budget is enough for Ayade to be impeached,” he stated.
The SDP candidate said his party was prepared for the elections having campaigned in the northern and central senatorial zones with huge success. He posited that the northern part of the State was the most deprived despite having someone as sitting governor and that the people were suffering in silence.
“Every insfrastructure in the north has been abandoned and dabused. Bebi airstrip is shut down, overgrown with weed. We saw frustration on the faces of the people but we gave them message of hope, he stated.
Ekpo reiterated that the party was out to make a difference and that his campaign train would again take off for the southern senatorial district, and that he was confident the vote of every Nigerian would count.
On the SDP’s endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari as their presidential candidate, Ekpo said “that decision does not have the support of majority of party members. We rely on statement that Donald Duke has issued. We believe Duke is still our presidential candidate and therefore, we will continue to support him.,” and that the members including both Donald Duke and Jerry Gana had rejected the said endorsement
