The National Publicity Secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the General Overseer of the Calabar-based Christian Central Chapel International, CCCI, Bishop Emmah Isong, has lashed out at politicians in the country saying Nigerians are angry and they will use their voters’ cards in 2019 to show their anger. Isong who spoke on a wide range of issues on his personal capacity said result of 2019 election will shock Nigerians. Excerpts:
What do you have to say to Nigerians now that the major candidates for next year’s general elections have been known?
If you look at my prophesies for the past fifteen years, almost 99 percent of everything I said has come to pass, if I lie you are my witnesses, if I tell the truth you are also my witnesses…But my shock is that it’s not a big thing in the media, and I keep accusing the media, is it because of where I come from, or where I stay, is it because I am not in Lagos and Abuja. Because if somebody coughs in Abuja, somebody catches cold and most of those coughs don’t come to pass.
Most of these prophesy in Lagos, some of them fail in front of your eyes. Somebody prophesied that Nigeria will win the world cup and they never won. There are a lot of these things and I challenge the media, I say please try and look at it, people have good intentions for this country.
On politics in Nigeria, we shall hear the full prophesies by December, when I give my prophesies but because elections is very close, it’s in February, I will tell you that you should get ready to expect a result that will shock Nigerians in 2019 elections. I will also challenge Nigerians that they should not go back and say they have finished writing results. It is a lie; this is going to be another election in Nigeria that will count.
Forget about Osun state and the rest, those things are in court and they will come out one day. Please Nigerians should clean up their PVC’s and get ready to vote because people are hungry. In case nobody is hungry in your family, in my family they are asking me for food everyday and I don’t have to give some people. Nigerians are going to use the occasion of the 2019 elections to show their anger in almost all the spheres of development in this country. The PVC shall become the AK47 that civilians will now use to fight forces that come against them.
But the PFN in the national, do they have any plans for the coming elections
Yes, at the national level we are together, we are all in one accord and speaking in one voice from the national president to the members and of course all states that have to also reflect what the national is saying and what they have been saying is very clear.
For the coming elections, first, Christians should get their PVC’s, they should be proactive and get ready to vote in or out the government they like or not at the various states and federal levels. Secondly, Christians should not be docile, they should not be withdrawn and decline to vote on election day and thirdly, they should pray that God should raise up a candidate that will promise that the wanton killings of Christians should stop. That is the Christian agenda. We want the killings to stop, the disgrace of our faith and manipulation of our faith should stop and that is very clear.
What will you say on parties’ internal democracy?
I score all the political parties in Nigeria 0.0 percent in internal democracy. They have no internal democracy in PDP, APC in fact let me even say that the smaller parties which have never tasted power are better in internal democracy even though they have not seen money yet. What I am saying is that even the wife of Mr. President has corroborated it, the results are written inside vehicles. Ok let me give you an example, I will not mention the political party, I lodged in a hotel in Uyo and I was about to check out and enter my car and drive back to Calabar and there were gun shots and gun smells.
I have never seen people with such red eyes before. The hotel was barricaded and there were physical fights and I ran back into the hotel with the help of my Personal Assistant and inquired what was amiss, I was told they are from the venue of a political party nomination process. Somebody who had defected from another party to another party is in a hotel room writing names of candidates, the date was 5th of October.
So you can see that this is prevalent in all the political parties so my recommendation is that INEC should take over the nomination of candidates from the political parties and should not be observers. All the INEC observers usually go and collect a bottle of coke and go back. I give you an example of Lagos state. They said there were no primaries in Lagos. Did you not hear, the Clement Ebri committee said there was no primaries and the next day, 24 hours after, my very respectable Clement Ebri, the most honourable Cross Riverians I have known in Nigeria, the next day he said there was primaries, I cried and wept.
You and I know Ebri that he is number one in integrity, he is the best this country has produced in terms of honesty. If Ebri can wake up the next day and say there was primary, I cry for my country because there is trouble. My children are in trouble so what do we do. If the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do? What is the foundation, the nominations at the party we are really having it wrong and have messed up at the party level?
It is the people that the parties throw up that you and I will go and vote for and already we are wrong. The worst is APC because almost in 20 states, APC has two governorship candidates 20 states two-two candidates…till the wife of the president cried out and said Oshiomhole, you have been a party leader and human right activist, why should this thing happen under your watch. I am telling you, people carried pen and paper and wrote results in their hotel rooms.
Looking at it holistically, what do you think is the problem and how can we address this going into the next general elections?
The problem with the Nigerian political class is that during their electoral campaigns, they have no game plan to change the people’s lives. You know what they do during campaigns, I will tell you, and they will hire thugs and pay for the crowds. Are you aware that all the crowds in the PDP as well as APC campaigns are all paid crowds? Ok, put your undercover and I challenge the international community, put an undercover in any declaration including Godswill Akpabio declaration including Udom Emmanuel, Ben Ayade and interview 10 people, don’t go to hundred, and you will notice that all those crowds are hired and rented.
They are paid 2000 or even 500. One woman cried once and said they have not paid her and I said what, they arrange and pay the crowds, these guys are intelligent. They have coordinators, hire buses…I am beginning to be worried, does Nigerian electorate know that they are selling their future, birthright, do they know that it is injurious to their rights and privileges?. I will advise Nigerians that anybody who cannot develop your lives with the money he has should not bring the money to the voting line. If you are so rich change our lives.
Could poverty be part of the problem?
I have a solution to that of poverty. Organize yourselves as pressure groups, NUJ, NLC, meet including Akwa Ibom Union, Igbo Union and the rest, then gather together in a junction and come up with a revolution or write a resolution. Write at least 20 resolutions for everyone who wants to be the governor of Cross River state. It could be Ayade or Owan Enoh, I don’t want to know your name.
Everybody who wants to be a governor should come and sign and we do not need your manifesto. You rather sign our resolution which will include water, sanitation and all the things we want. And, we form ourselves into a strong group, we put a curse that nobody collects 10 kobo and if you do so, you and your children this is what will happen People will be afraid, and then the politician come and sign. You see that politicians are deceiving us, I vote for human beings, I do not vote for parties. Don’t vote party, vote persons because there is no party that is a salvation to the people..
So, what’s the spiritual implication of all these?
There are three spiritual implications, one, we need to give our lives to Jesus. Our leaders need to be born again. They need to have Jesus in their lives because it is the lack of God in their lives that makes them naturally wicked and greedy.
Our leaders are wicked and greedy, why does money come out during elections but three years before elections money is scarce? Why does money come out now? They said there was no money, now candidates are paying – do you know how much a form is collected for governorship, presidency? So if a country has no money, where will an individual get N45 million to buy one form. This is just to tell you that our political class has disappointed us. You say there is no money and we are all hungry. Some of you here, when last did you buy a new shirt? Mention when you went to the supermarket and bought a new shirt. Almost all what you are wearing here are old clothes, including the one I am wearing here.
I am challenging you. So where does money hide? I’m trying to make a point and I am trying to say the politicians tell us there is no money, not so? Where then did money they are throwing around come out? So we should find out. They say the economy is hard and we are in a depression but the politicians are having big-time sharing money especially during nominations, somebody is cheating somebody.
One percent of the Nigerian population has hijacked the national cake and so that’s where we have found ourselves. We must be able to get back power to ourselves. We must be able to put people, I don’t want to recommend a socialist form of government because it has its own implication, and we are talking about the spiritual dimension. So I am saying firstly, we need to give our lives to God, we need to be born again, it is the wickedness of these politicians that makes them do what they are doing.
Number two, are you aware that most of our politicians who go to churches and mosques in the day go to shrines to get powers and bathe in junctions? You have not heard of politicians bathing in junctions, you have not heard them with human heads, human parts, are you going to hear from my mouth. Most of these politicians have dirty hands because the way they enter power is diabolical. They do everything to soothe their masters.
Many of our politicians including those going to churches and mosques bow to another thing. Children are getting lost, human parts are getting lost. Is it too long ago when they caught the majority leader of the House of Assembly of a state bathing naked on the road and he has been in the house of assembly for four or five tenures, are you aware? Which means the way he was perpetuating himself in the House of Assembly was from that occult ritual.
That is the one that was caught and we don’t know the ones sleeping with virgins, cutting human parts and I hope in your village people are not disappearing because it is this same crave and desperation of power that has led them. Some are pounding children, bathing with the blood of children, sleeping with their mothers, it is very serious because you are asking me if there is anything spiritual and I am answering you that many of these people who crave for power are occult members.
Number three, people are using religion in Nigeria as opium of oppression and land acquisition. Religion is no more something that you can go and worship God in the church or in the mosque; it’s now if you are a Muslim, I bring my Muslim people and they kill people and collect land. If I am a Christian, I bring my people and they also kill and collect land.
That means if you insult me, I now go and contest elections and if I win and come in as president and governor, I now do the vendetta and begin to deal with all of you. Let’s say it was in Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa and my own tribe will now start dealing with you and I will give them police and military cover and people will be shouting, the killing is too much and I will carry my face and wear black glasses and say don’t worry we shall do something and I will not arrest one neither will I go there and say it is enough stop killing.
Nobody cares, which means as we are doing that as a Fulani man, one day an Igbo man or Idoma man will become president or Ijaw man and once they become president it becomes goat herders rising up to strike the country. The goat herders will now be killing people and then the president will carry his face straight and say we will look into the situation. That is what is going on spiritually.
Religion is being used as opium for oppressing the people. People got into communities and wipe our people’s children, ripped pregnant women open and Nigeria is still on and going for elections. Cutting pregnant women, slaughtering the youths, we say it is farmers and herders crisis. Those school children are they also farmers or herders? The Catholic Church that was attacked in Benue, is it also farmers. So you can see that it is not farmers and herders crisis, it is islamization and jihadization of Nigeria through the Fulani communities that have the cover of the federal government of Nigeria.
